Here's a snippet from the latest in the rumor mill:Everyone expects the Rockies to move Matt Holliday for pitching this winter, but Troy E. Renck suggests it might be Garrett Atkins instead. Atkins is expected to make around $8MM in arbitration next year, and with Ian Stewart developing at third and Todd Helton returning to first, Atkins becomes readily expendable.

I fell in love with the players on this team after a spectacular run late in the 2007 season and seeing them go their separate ways is hard for me to handle. I am aware that this is a business, but I was lucky enough to witness one of the greatest runs in sports history, the majority of it live and first hand, and I will always remember these players for what they did on that fateful run. This move would make plenty of sense if equal compensation can be acquired, but it will be a sad day if GA leaves the Mile High City.
In other news, I picked up this sick auto as well as the gray version last week ('07 Topps Turkey Red; Red version; #424/475). I guess this is the time to show it off.
